How River Table collects, uses and looks after your personal information when you use this website or get in touch with the workshop. Draft for review, September 2026.
1. Who we are
River Table, Braintree, Essex, is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us about anything in this policy on 01376 313333 or at hello@rivertable.co.uk. River Table is the trading name of Gerard Greenan, 6 Chestnut Avenue, Great Notley, Braintree, Essex CM77 7YJ.
2. What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and what you tell us about the piece or slab you are interested in. When you commission a piece or buy a slab we also collect a delivery address and payment details, which are handled by our payment provider and not stored by us.
This website is hosted on Framer, which records standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to serve the site securely.
3. How we use it
To reply to your enquiry, agree a specification, fulfil an order and deliver it. To keep records of commissions and sales as required by law. To send you occasional news about the workshop only if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
4. Lawful basis
We rely on the performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before one, for enquiries and orders; on our legal obligations for financial records; and on your consent for any marketing.
5. Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the workshop: our website host (Framer), our email provider, our payment provider for card payments, and delivery companies for finished pieces. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
6. Cookies
This site uses only the essential cookies needed for it to work. We use Framer Analytics, which is cookieless and records only aggregate page views, and Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used. Google Analytics runs only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner when you first visit; you can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser cookies, and you can block Google Analytics everywhere with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for two years. Records of commissions and sales are kept for six years after the end of the financial year in which they were made, as HMRC requires.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable form. Write to hello@rivertable.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes
We will update this policy when the way we handle information changes. The date of the current version is shown at the top of the page.
